Additional Information about having acupuncture : Covid -19 security

Before your appointment

Before Treatment
  • I will need to check whether it is safe to treat you at the moment.  I will ask a few questions by telephone, or email including.
Are you considered clinically 'vulnerable' or 'extremely clinically vulnerable' and so at greater risk
  • Once a treatment is agreed,  I am presently scheduling video chats before your first treatment, this gives us an opportunity to cover your past medical history and your present existing complaint, away from the clinic, therefore minimising time in the treatment room.

Consent form
before giving any treatment I will ask you to read and sign a consent form, this is a requirement of the British Acupuncture Council of which I am a member of.

During your treatment

I will be wearing a face mask, but in line with new COVID guidelines I leave it up to you to decide whether you wish to wear a mask or not.

In the waiting room there will be complimentary hand sanitiser, to use on your arrival.

Safe practice measures
  • I am adhering to the British Acupuncture Council Covid 19 safe practice code.
  • This has included a full risk assessment
  • In addition I have undertaken 2 courses by the World Health Organisation that cover safe hand hygiene and cleaning and disinfecting a clinical space.
  • The room will be cleaned and aerated in between patients and at the end of each clinic
  • All towels and pillow cases will be freshly laundered for each patient.
